MYSTiX
"it's all just smoke and mirrors..."

MYSTiX (pronounced: MIST-icks) came to be after a lot of failed attempts to quit smoking, a lot of frustration, a lot of research and a little bit of self-realization.

I had been a smoker for quite a few years, and every attempt to quit ended the same way...with me right back to smoking again. Like many people who smoke cigarettes will tell you, it is simply the hardest habit you will ever try to break. So, after much deliberation (and urging from my spouse...she absolutely hates smoking!) I decided that I needed to try something different. Seeing as ever other attempt was met with failure, I needed to analyze why that was, why I just couldn't quit.

I found that there were actually a couple of things that helped contribute to my continuing failure to quit smoking. Besides the obvious reason, my addiction to nicotine, I found that there were at least two other elements that certainly made it more difficult to just walk away from the "death sticks", I will explain those in a minute, and another big point was I actually enjoyed smoking to some extent.

The two elements  I found that made it more difficult were:

1, The social element - A lot of my friends and family are smokers. This would make my attempts at quitting an absolute nightmare! At any social event, I would find my resolve to quit being torn to shreds as everyone around was "lighting up". Or even worse if I was out with friends for a few drinks, the urge to join them for a cigarette was unbearable. I enjoyed going out for a little break and talking while I had a cigarette with friends, so I felt as though I was depriving myself of those moments when I tried to quit.

2, The hand-to-mouth element - As silly as it sounds, this actually is a big factor. After you have smoked for some time and try to quit, you find yourself struggling to figure out what to do with your hands when you aren't smoking! I found I was figgetting constantly. The simple act of holding a cigarette and lifting it to my mouth was actually an issue.

So the question was this, how do I get rid of all the things I disliked about smoking (the health issues, the cough, the nasty smell, the yellow fingers, the ridiculous costs, the bad breath, the second-hand smoke, the ugly residue, the potential death and the angry spouse!!) and somehow keep the things I liked about it (the social element, the little breaks it would provide, and the hand-to-mouth thing)? This is what I set out to do.

The solution was "Personal Vaporizers" or "PV's" for short, or as they are commonly called, "Electronic cigarettes".

These gave me a way to appease all parties involved (being me and the angry spouse). With my PV I could still get that little break in the day, I wasn't feeling like I was being deprived at social events when everyone else "lit up". I was still getting the hand-to-mouth thingy and amazingly enough, it still felt like I was smoking!! I would inhale and blow out something that felt like smoke, that looked like smoke, but in reality was just a pleasant tasting and smelling vapor. With no tar or carcinogens to speak of. It has no second hand smoke, and unlike smoke, it dissipates into the air within a couple of seconds (no ugly residue...I could do this in the house again!!).

Better yet, I was feeling better! I wouldn't wake up with that heavy feeling in my chest. My sense of smell came back (for better or worse...keep in mind I still go out for "smoke" breaks and now I can smell what they smell like!) and things are starting to taste better again.

I had found a way break my habit and somehow still enjoy it and I haven't looked back once! I have been cigarette free ever since. Even the spouse was happy.

And that, is how MYSTiX was born.

MYSTiX is based in Ontario Canada, but proudly serves all of North America.

Hopefully it can work for you, as well as it has worked for me! Good luck on your journey towards becoming cigarette free.
